Simply Holy. Sounds like a paradox, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not, at least not when we’re talking about my brand new monthly newsletter, slated to launch on April 8, 2013. Inspired by Vatican Council II’s universal call to holiness and the New Evangelization prescribed by the Synod of Bishops, Simply Holy aims at helping andinspiring readers to grow together in holiness by living, working, and being in the presence of God.
Here’s the lineup of what each issue of Simply Holy will include:
Message from Marge: Encouragement and insight that sets the tone for that issue and a bit of what’s up and what’s new from my spot on the globe.
Spark: Looking to our Lord and his Blessed Mother as examples for our own lives.
Substance: Discovering practical steps toward holiness by examining Church teaching, writings, and lives of the saints, book excerpts, meditations, life experiences, and ideas.
Reality Check: Taking note of Church and world events and how they affect us.
Prayer Corner: Praying for one another’s intentions and sharing our favorite places, spaces, and ways to pray.
Simply Holy is meant to be a tool by which we can learn from, and support, each other. So, I’ll occasionally be opening up one or the other section to guest writers. In every issue, I’ll include prayer intentions submitted to me so that we can pray with and for one another. Additionally, I’ll post pictures sent to me of the places and spaces readers most like to pray and suggestions for making our prayer more fruitful. All in all, this will be a group effort as we strive together to reach toward holiness and a deepening of our Christian faith.
For now, Simply Holy will be available through subscription only. You can subscribe to the newsletter using the Subscribe option on the left side of my website’s homepage. I do hope that you’ll subscribe to Simply Holy and that you’ll urge others to subscribe, too. Also, I invite you to send your prayer intentions, pictures of you favorite prayer places and spaces, and suggestions to firstname.lastname@example.org so that I can include them in the newsletter.
Great things happen when Christians unite to grow in holiness and increase their love for the Triune God and our Blessed Mother Mary – that’s what Simply Holy is all about.
