It’s been happening since Adam and Eve. The woman issues an observation, and the guy asks her to prove it. But she can’t. She just knows it. That’s called woman’s intuition and it’s been the source of misunderstandings between men and women for thousands of years. Grace does not erase who we are; it perfects and elevates what God has already placed within us. As the Catechism teaches, “Grace builds on nature” (CCC 2005). Instead of trying to imitate someone else’s path to holiness, we can cultivate virtue in the way God designed us to flourish.
