Just a friendly reminder that today is Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, and throughout our nation citizens are patronizing the fast food chain in support of Chick-fil-A’s founder S. Truett Cathy, who has held his ground on traditional marriage and family values. Chick-fil-A president and COO Dan Cathy (son of S. Truett Cathy) explained the company’s position in an interview with the Baptist Press. If you believe that all US citizens have the right to live and operate their businesses according to their religious beliefs, then make a purchase at Chick-fil-A. Even if fast food doesn’t suit you, there are other menu items that will. One caution: expect long lines. But that’s the point, isn’t it?
To bring the matter closer to home, if the practice of denying business owners the right to operate their undertakings according to their religious beliefs continues, then our nation’s beliefs-driven enterprises will go under, including my writing, speaking and editing business as well as my husband’s printing business.
