Friends! Please join guest host Vanessa Denha Garmo and me on Ave Maria Radio’s “Catholic Connection” tomorrow, Tuesday, May 21 at 8:15am CST (9:15am EST) as we chat about Imitating Mary: Ten Marian Virtues for the Modern Mom and why we all should imitate Mary. Sadly, the show’s regular host, Teresa Tomeo will be out this week because her father-in-law passed away and her family needs her right now. Won’t you join me in praying a Hail Mary for the repose of his soul?

I’d also like to alert you to today’s deadline. Today is the last day of my Buy One, Get One Free sale. If you order one copy of Imitating Mary, you’ll receive one free copy of any one of my other books: When’s God Gonna Show Up?, When’s God Gonna Call Me Back?, or Strengthening Your Family: A Catholic Approach to Holiness at Home. You can order by going to my Bookstore page.

Here’s a lovely item of interest for you: Cardinal Timothy Dolan and Milwaukee Archbishop Jerome Listecki have given their blessing to every single person who reads Imitating Mary. Think about it – read it, and you receive the blessing of not one, but TWO archbishops (one of whom is a cardinal). Plus, if you encourage others to read the book, they’ll receive those blessings, too. On top of that? My wonderful parish pastor has done the same for me, so each reader will receive his blessing, too! Seriously, folks, does it get better than that?

I’m sure it’s been noticeable that this blog has been really quiet lately. It isn’t for lack of enthusiasm, let me assure you! It’s this thing called, “Mother of the Groom,” which I will very soon be. Those of you who already have been involved in planning a wedding are probably nodding your heads (or shaking them, as the case may be). Those of you who have not yet had that pleasure, well, your turn will come. A wedding in the family is a monstrously blessed event, but boy, oh boy, it takes a ton of work! Our situation is compounded in that we’ve got out of town relatives coming in and the reception is a Western-style BBQ that we’re supplying and hosting ourselves.

So, can I beg your forgiveness for the blog lull and your prayers for the wedding? With it being outdoors, we’re concerned about the weather, plus the logistics are proving to be quite a challenge! On top of that, I’m one of those ball-my head-off dames and we’re really worried about flooding and the safety of the guests. Some of them can’t swim! I hope you’ll understand if I don’t name any dates or locations. There are not-so-well-intentioned folks who hunt the Internet looking for opportunity to commit crime while families are away at events.

I look forward to having your ear tomorrow morning while I’m chatting with Vanessa, and your continued following of this blog. Good stuff coming down the pike, I promise. For now, well, I’ve got other things needing my attention…
