I kind of smiled when I read the headline, “Obama vows to change the world” on the Telegraph website. At first glance, it’s funny. given more serious consideration, it becomes downright scary. I can think of a few other political figures who vowed to change the world. Take Diocletian for instance. How many Christians were tortured and murdered under his reign? How about Adolf Hitler. Millions were annihilated under his direction. Let’s try Saddam Hussein. I don’t know that there’s any way to accuarately count how many of his own people he slaughtered.
And now we have our friend, Barak shouting the same rhetoric. He’ll change the world if he gets in power all right. And he’ll facilitate the annihilation of thousands of his own people – the unborn and euthanized – in the process.
Why, oh why do we humans keep forgetting that the Lord God Almighty is the only one who can effectively change the world? It’ll take our cooperation, of course. He desires our prayers, sacrifices and instrumentality. But in the end, it’s up to him.
