Day Three

No one likes to be confused, to have our status quo shaken. Once we have things figured out, we want to be left to our own devices to make certain that everything happens according to our own private conviction. We’d prefer to tell God how our life should go rather than listen to him tell us the way it should be. Confusion disturbs the peace in our hearts and minds. It disturbs the peace we think we’ve achieved when things seem to be going our way. So, we close ourselves to God’s will and his message for us.

Words of Pope Francis

The one who trusts in himself, in his own richness or ideologies, is destined for unhappiness. The one who trusts in the Lord, on the other hand, bears fruit even in time of drought.

Prayer to Our Lady, Undoer of Knots

Our Lady, Undoer of Knots,

Because you are my Mother, I know you truly understand my confusion. You know what this confusion [name the knot] costs me, and you know what needs to be done in order to resolve it. You also understand the confusion of the others in my life (mentioned by name), for you are their Mother, too. You know what it costs them and what needs to be done for its resolution.

Mother, implore your son for mercy and forgiveness for any sinful choices caught up in these knots. Pray for me, that I might move from confusion to humility and trust in the loving hand of God. Please work diligently to undo the knots so that order might be be restored in the hearts and minds of all involved.

Mother, I also want to unite my prayers with those of Pope Francis, asking God to dispel the confusion and grant lasting peace in the world. Amen.

Say one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be for peace in our hearts, homes, and the world and for the intentions of the Holy Father.

Make a concrete resolution to take one step toward peace in your heart today.
