I cringe as I write this.
A few hours ago, a Houston grand jury decided not to charge Planned Parenthood with any wrongdoing and instead indicted David Daleiden, chief investigator for the Center for Medical Progress. Daleiden and his fellow investigator, Sandra Merritt went undercover to expose Planned Parenthood’s gruesome practice of altering abortion procedures and selling baby body parts for financial gain.
The jury turned the tables and instead indicted Daleiden of offering to purchse human organs from Planned Parenthood.
Seriously?
Yes, seriously.
Now Daleiden faces a second-degree felony charge of “tampering with a governmental record,” and a misdemeanor charge for violating the state’s “prohibition of the purchase and sale of human organs.”
This means a punishment of not less than two, and not more than 20 years in prison, and a fine of up to $10,000.
The same charges have been pressed against Merritt.
In nutshell, the jurors are accusing Daleiden and Merritt of trying to illegally traffic in aborted babies’ body parts even though CMP has made it completely clear that the two were involved in an undercover investigation to reveal Planned Parenthood’s own criminal behavior.
Interestingly, Texas state law allows someone to be charged with such a serious felony only “if the actor’s intent in committing the offense was to defraud or harm another.”
That Planned Parenthood somehow managed to twist things around does not surprise me one iota. They have money and they have power. They will let nothing stop them from continuing to harvest and sell body parts of living babies to fill their pockets with cash and provide their executives with lamborghinis. Planned Parenthood, as an organization, is the embodiment of evil.
It doesn’t surprise me, but it does sadden me. And it angers me.
It should sadden and anger you, too.
