I’m working on a new book project for Liguori Publications, and I’m inviting YOU to participate! Will you help me out? The book’s working title is Ten Promises of Jesus that Will Turn Your Sorrow into Joy and Liguori has given me permission to try an experiment. Usually, a book project is kept under wraps until all of the details have been finalized and the manuscript completed. Not this time! This time, I’m letting you in on the fun and inviting you to participate in the process of what I hope to be a daring book of hope and joy for many. It’s a big undertaking, and we expect to have the book on the market this Fall (2016). That means I have to work hard and fast to do my research and finish the manuscript. Here’s the book description from my outline: Ten Promises of Jesus that Will Turn Your Sorrow into Joy is a dose of hope for anyone feeling overwhelmed, and that’s just about all of us. When faced with adversity, we tend to want to push through on our own, relying on our own resources to survive. That usually gets us nowhere. We forget that we can and should rely on our Lord. Not only did he understand adversity because he experienced it himself, but also he has promised – not once, but repeatedly – that he will turn our sorrow into joy if we trust and follow him. Ten Promises of Jesus uses ten of Jesus’ promises of hope as spoken directly by him and found in Scripture to assure readers that they are not alone and that he will show them the way from sorrow to joy. Since childhood, most of us have been told time and again that our reward lies in heaven. But there are rewards in the suffering itself, and we need concrete reminders of that hope along the way. Ten Promises of Jesus that Will Turn Your Sorrow into Joy is the concrete reminder we all need that Jesus has promised to transform our sorrow into joy. It’s not just a book; it’s a handbook for life; one that will come in handy as each new adversity arises, as we know that they will. I am SO very excited about this book, and am confident that it will be a blessing in the lives of thousands of people! Will you help me out by cheering me on? My Book Progress is a marvelous tool I discovered through Author Media. that tracks a book project’s progress from concept through finished product. I’ll be using it to keep tabs on Ten Promises. My Book Progress will measure and mark each step along the way, letting you know what I’ve completed and when. Keep watching the Ten Promises badge on each blog post and issue of SIMPLY HOLY, to stay informed! Knowing you’re keeping an eye on me, so to speak, will help keep me on task and on deadline for this important work! Will you come along with me on this journey? There’s Another Way I Need Your Help, As Well I need your help in another way as well. Part of my research for Ten Promises includes interviewing people of faith who have faced serious adversity and come out pf it with their faith deeper and their hope and trust in our Lord stronger. Do you know anyone like that? Is that person you? If so, I would like to have the privilege of learning their/your story and how Jesus’ promise came true in their/your life. Before I go further: I promise you that no names will be used without permission, and ficticious names will be used if preferred. Can you help me out? First, a couple of housekeeping items: Please don’t send me names or contact information of persons you think might be good candidates for interviewing. Rather, please contact them ahead of time and get their permission. I cannot breach the confidentiality of any person or relationship. You may contact me at marge@margefenelon.com with suggestions and/or questions. Please understand that I may not be able to use every single story that comes my way, and please don’t take offense at that. It’s a huge project, and there will be many prospects. I’ll have to discern and screen candidates according to the Holy Spirit’s promptings for Ten Promises. I do hope to hear from you and look forward to your accompaniment on this journey! |
