Can it be More Merciful to be Less Merciful? You decide.

A recent homily got me to asking myself about the degrees of mercy and whether it’s actually more merciful to be less merciful at times.

The homily was about the championship soccer game between Chile and Mexico that took place on June 18 in Copa America Centenario quarterfinal held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Chile beat Mexico 7-0, and the priest pointed to it as an act of mercy.
