That same year, Adele’s father built a chapel on the site of the apparitions.
In 1864, a school and convent were built on the premises.
In 1871, the property was miraculously spared from the deadly Peshtigo Fire through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In 1942, a new chapel was built and dedicated to Mary under the title Our Lady of Good Help.
In 2010, Bishop David Ricken of the Diocese of Green Bay approved the apparitions in a formal declaration.
In 2017, you and I embark on a virtual pilgrimage to take in the beauty and grace of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help.
That day is June 23, 2017.
June 23 is the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and what better way to give glory to his Sacred Heart than by honoring the beautiful Lady who bore that Heart in her womb?
The day starts with a kickoff segment at 6:45amCT on Relevant Radio’s Morning Air Show when I’ll chat with hosts John Harper and Glen Lewerenz about my journey.
Afterward, I’ll hit the road for the two-hour drive to the Relevant Radio Studios in Green Bay where I’ll have the great pleasure of meeting the Morning Air crew in person. I am SO excited to meet other members of the Morning Air family!!
From there, I’ll head to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help where I’ll meet some of the wonderful folks responsible for the shrine’s administration before I spend time praying, contemplating, exploring, and absorbing this miraculous place. I’ll be live-streaming on Facebook during my time there to share with you some of what I’m experiencing as well as accepting your questions and prayer intentions in the comments (or via email email@example.com). Of course, I’ll pray for you and your intentions while I’m there!
In the afternoon, it’s back to the Relevant Radio Studios to meet the crew of The Drew Mariani Show. Then I’ll have the amazing gift of meeting Drew in person and of joining him in praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet live on air. I do have to admit that I’m a bit star-struck and a tad nervous about meeting Drew, as I’ve admired his good work for the Lord for a very long time!
A full, grace-filled day, to say the least!
I hope you’ll join me on this journey and invite your family and friends to share in the adventure, too. Please don’t forget to let me know your prayer intentions so that I can pray for you and those you care about. And, please pray for me as I hit the road to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Grab your backpack, water bottle, and rosary and let’s GO!
