Luke’s Gospel tells us about the call of Levi (Matthew), the tax collector. Of course, the Pharisees try to trip up Jesus (again), by accusing him of hanging out with the less-desirables of society. This is his response:

Jesus said to them in reply, “Those who are healthy do not need a physician, but the sick do. I have not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners.”

This made me wonder… If Jesus came to my neighborhood, would he come to my house? Would he consider me one of the sick, or one of the healthy? Sometimes people walk around for years not knowing that they have a disease. Either the symptoms aren’t pronounced enough for them to notice or they’ve gotten so used to them that it’s become the new norm.
