I’m excited to announce the upcoming release of my new book, 10 Promises of Jesus: Stories and Scripture Reflections about Suffering and Joy! It’s scheduled for release on October 1, 2018 by Twenty-Third Publications.
That’s not all! I’ll be speaking on 10 Promises of Jesus at the San Angelo Catholic Women’s Conference September 28-29, 2018 and will have copies of the book for sale there. This is my first speaking engagement post-publication and more will follow, so stay tuned!
Can’t wait that long? Then you can pre-order your copy here.
This book would never have been possible without the selfless people who courageously and generously shared with me their stories of sorrow-turned-to-joy, and I owe them a dept of gratitude. You’ll meet them all in the pages of 10 Promises of Jesus: Stories and Scripture Reflections about Suffering and Joy. As I went through our interviews and worked on the manuscript, time and again I thought to myself, “Gee. I wish I could be just like them when I grow up!” They all are amazing people with undaunted spirit and invincible faith – as you’ll see for yourself when you read the book
10 Promises has been years in the making with many hurdles to cross and much hardship to conquer along the way. But it was all worth it! Dedicated to my children and their families, this is a book meant to give hope and assurance that Jesus will turn our sorrow into joy no matter what we face in life – he promised!
Here’s the description:
This book is a solid dose of hope. Through her own stories and the stories of others who have faced adversity and suffering, Marge Fenelon reminds us that, no matter what, Jesus is always there for us. Jesus understands adversity and suffering because he experienced them himself. And he promised not once, but repeatedly that he will turn our sorrow into joy if we but trust and follow him. From ask and you will receive to I will give you rest, to your hearts will rejoice, and seven more, Fenelon explores what these promises can mean in our lives. No matter what situation you are facing, and how frail your sense of hope has become, this comforting, inspiring book will reassure you that Jesus is waiting to lift you up.
I’m humbled to have the endorsement of folks who I look up to and whose work I admire:
Jesus never promised us a life without suffering, but He did promise that it is possible to experience peace in all circumstances. In 10 Promises of Jesus: Stories and Scripture Reflections about Suffering and Joy, Marge Fenelon will show you how to live joyfully every day – even in the midst of suffering. Highly recommended!

Boy, do we need this now! Marge Fenelon offers us stories of healing and hope, tied to the timeless wisdom of Christ’s own words, to lift our hearts and remind us “all things are possible for God.” This slender book is a welcome gift for our troubled times—and one that keeps on giving. Take and read. You’ll be glad you did.

There is only one person who can heal the past and provide hope for the future and that is Christ. As Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, his eternal faithfulness provides a sure foundation on which victory emerges from what looks like defeat. Marge Fenelon does a masterful job of creating a mosaic of hope by combining the promises of Christ with her own stories and the stories of others in such a way that a beautiful picture of grace emerges. As you read, you will see your own life, your own struggles and you too will discover how Christ can do marvelous things through weakness. Living in the present moment with Jesus is the sure remedy for worry, anxiety and fret. It’s when your past and future meet Christ’s promises in the present moment that you too will experience a refreshing peace and joy that surpasses all understanding.

EWTN Foundress Mother Angelica often reminded her viewers “the cross is not negotiable sweetheart.” In other words, all of us will suffer at some point in our lives and probably more than once. In 10 Promises of Jesus Marge beautifully explains through Scripture and Church teaching, how it’s what we do with and what we learn from life’s crosses that can have a profound and very positive affect on our lives.
